I think the coldest locos were 47s.
I remember years ago i caught a train in Leeds to St Austell thick with snow and bitterly cold at Leeds a class 47 on the front the poor driver looked frozen to death.
The hottest locos in my eyes were 45s and 46s if you put all the heaters and the cooker plate on they were unbearable.
