The Silver Streak should recommence rattling very shortly.
The Croweater and Sandgroper borders to be opened by Xmas, hopefully.
But, a plague hiccup in smog hollow has seen us Cockroaches under the spot light again.
Social distancing on the Silver Streak, when it does recommence, will reduce the cattle capacity.
So, ticket pricetags will no doubt rise.
The locos seen on that Tahmoor coalie incident are PN 82 class EMD JT42C dogbone shaped dingi.
YUCK !
The Silver Streak is normally dragged by PN NR class GE Cv40-9i dingi.
One NR assisted by a DL class EMD AT42C when the train is the total length.

You wouldn't want any 82 class dingi dragging it.
They suffer from a horrendous Main Generator transition at around 35 kph.
Mind you, the AN CLP class EMD AT26HC-2m nose jobs that did drag it in the mid to late 1990s likewise suffered from that transition.
The go was to avoid travelling at around 35 kph for any period.
Thankfully I don't have dentures, otherwise they would have flown out of me mouth with each transition shunt.
Steve.
