'A First Class Death' by Jason Hall

1854: London’s cemeteries are full. The London Necropolis Railway is built in the vaults under Waterloo station to transport the dead and their mourners outside the city.

2015: London’s cemeteries are filling. The line is re-opening. And you’ve got a ticket. Baseless Fabric, creators of unique theatre experiences, invite you onboard this immersive promenade performance exploring Waterloo’s historical macabre Necropolis Railway and the inevitability that one day you are going to die one day. The question is, are you ready?

You will be challenged, entertained and involved as they move through the local area of Lower Marsh and into the atmospheric underground Cavern space of the Leake Street tunnels, once a repository for the dead awaiting their final trip on the London Necropolis Railway.

A First Class Death, 4 - 8 Feb The Vaults, Leake Street, SE1 7NN
Performances: Wednesday - Sunday at 21.10; Saturday and Sunday at 16.40.
Tickets: £9.50
