Thank you all for your responses. I became a train spotter in 1976 but my love of steam railways continues today along with vintage locomotives.
When I was about 4, my Grandfather took me to see all the steam locomotives on March shed awaiting to go to the breakers torch. Really regret that I never saw them in steam on the March shed and in the marshalling yard from Norwood Side Bridge and Twenty Foot Crossing.
I have, however, seen steam in later years on the old Loco Shed being prepared/cold on steam charters.
Do not know yet how often I will be able to visit this site, or exactly how it works at the moment (

), but will try to keep in touch as often as possible.
My Grandfather, who was a driver, one of his last steam duties was to bring Oliver Cromwell (Britannia class) 7F from Doncaster to March.
