Hi..I am a grey beard who first started noticing trains circa 1946 when in my pram ,according to mother...I got serious late 50's,so you can see I started my interest when diesels were largely confined to DMU's ...Living Peterborough plenty of variety M&GN ,I have travelled on that fron P'boro North to Sutton bridge, and behind A4's on ECML etc.etc...I also remember delights of March/Whitemoor,particularly on a Sunday.
Since then my interest varies, but to be honest a train journey now particularly on WCML,has little character and that's if you can see out.
I have a interesting perspective ,view, and very much an inside one,in that I am involved in rail replacement, mainly WCML,but also Sheffield floods etc...Probably be able to relate to
All the best.
Richard
PS .Sorry not involved in Lincoln blockade, that's Nat Express
