Yea, they're big machines.
I watched an old VHS tape of the class 66s for EWS being manufactured in London, Ontario.
On the factory floor the locos destined for the UK looked like little toys compared with the other ones they were constructing - especially the Indian monsters.
General Motors had a big challenge squeezing all the equipment into the limited dimensions, particularly since we require a cab at both ends of a Uk loco.
Actually I was having a chat with a friend of mine the other day about whether there are any steam/diesel American locos in the UK. He said the only one he could think of was the Yankee Tank at the Bluebell.
Does anyone know of any other USA locos located here in the UK ?
