Hi Everyone,
Paul 1 here, 65 years old, grandfather of 2 beautiful children, and I am a retired engineer.
I have loved railways all of my life, and my earliest recollections are of going with my late mother to meet my late father off the train when I was about 4.
With a fellow enthusiast, I have just had a railway book published about the railways around our town in Derbyshire. Its a local history society publication and its called Railway Tales. It is really a social history of how railways changed an area, and is full of local peoples stories of how they lived, worked and used the railways. We sold the first 300 in a month, the second reprint of 200 has almost gone, and we are re ordering another 200 this week. Very pleased about that, as you can imagine. Looking forward to having some interesting conversations on here.
