I first got interested in railways when I was a three year old in 1960 and my grandfather used to take me for walks to see the Dyserth Quarry branch line locomotives working the stone traffic between Prestatyn and Dyserth.
I have vague memories of seeing 45156 Ayrshire Yeomanry working the branch several times in the early 60's.
At that time quite a few of my elder relatives were working on the railways.
These days though, it's my eldest daughter who works on the railways as an operations manager for a national rail company.
