I have a friend in Ilford who spent most of his life at Doncaster,and ended up at Ilford,a very knowledgeable and informative ex locoman,with a fantistic memory,Pete is in his early 80s,give him a number or name and he will give you the answer.I told him that we Patricroft men used to take the Deltics from Vulcan works to Leeds where Donny men took over,ironic that LNW men drove and second manned the Deltics before the NE men got their hands on them.We always had a nice lunch at vulcan foundry,courtesy of the Deltic programme.
