That's a very smart idea - I did such a thing in July, when I found that, with my Senior Railcard, it was actually cheaper to get an 8 out of 15 day Freedom of Severn & Solent Rover AND a 7 day Heart of England Rover (that's a possible 15 days worth of travel) than to get the cheapest fares (WITH Railcard) from Portsmouth to Crewe and return!
