Visually similar to ARC's four Class 59/1s, National Powers six Class 59/2 locomotives were built in London, Ontario around 1994/5.

Around 1998, they were sold to EWS, along with National Power's rail operations and wagon fleet, and were quickly repainted into their house colours. Following the sale of EWS in 2009, 59206 was repainted into DB Shenker's bright red house colours. All six are still in service.

When they first came out, the 59s were a change from the usual 'british' locos we were used to, but now we can see they were only the scouting party before the full American invasion!
