The level of detail now is fantastic but much of it is very fragile. OK if you keep your models in a display case but not if they are run regularly. I have given up taking my newer models to run on the club layout as inevitably something falls off.
We are now having to pay much more because prices are going up in China. We have been spoilt over the last few years. It looks like larger tender locos: O4 from Bachmann and 28XX from Hornby are going to come through at around £125 before discount which represents an increase of about 50% over the last 6-7 years"
I personally don't want to see anymore detail or gimmicks. I would prefer to see prices rise less quickly, although I realise that this is in evitable as living standards in China rise.
