Here are the traintimes when you worked on Prototype Deltic
108 Down Train 20:20 King's Cross - Edinburgh mail TPO to Doncaster.
119 Up Train 19:12 Edinburgh - King's Cross, from Doncaster Parcels.
The prototype Deltic seemed to be a frequent performer on this turn having already done a K/X -Doncaster return earlier in the day.
locojoe: Not too sure of the Doncaster departure time of 119 up as I do not have a WTT handy .The parcels left Edinburgh at 19.12 and I very occasionally saw it at Newcastle at just after 22.00? Allowing for any calls at stations -Darlington and York - on the way I imagine it might be around another two and a half to three hours for Newcastle-Doncaster so roughly 01.00 at Doncaster.According to the summer 1961 timetable train 108 the 20.20 down 'mail' from K/X arrived at Doncaster at 23.52, being a mail it stopped everywhere on the way. Perhaps someone reading this with access to the relevant WTT may be able to help us with exact times for 119. Around the time of which you are asking the 19.12 parcels into Newcastle was usually the 52A engine and men who had gone to Edinburgh earlier on the down 'Flying Scotsman'.
PS Little extra info found. Train 119 up parcels arrived K/X at around 04.30.
