I have found recently when trying to organise family days out by rail ( 2 years ago we were doing 10 or more per year) are now either uneconomical to use or 'affordable and short notice' tickets have destination arrival times so late in the day as to only to leave a couple of hours there. so in my case they are losing money not gaining by increasing fares. Remember public transport cited high fuel costs as the major reason for the fare increases but fuel has now dropped significantly so why have the fares not dropped in line. I agree with you guys.
