Memory playing tricks?

Hello. I'm a brand new member.

It's often struck me that my memory might be playing tricks on me. I'd be grateful if someone could confirm my thoughts. In the early 1960s whenever I spent summer holidays with my grandparents in Chester le Street and often visited 52A. As I recall, the unofficial entry to the shed was via a gap in a wall alongside a road overlooking the shed, a scramble down a grass bank, in between sidings with condemned locos and then, horror of horrors! You could cross the main line to access the shed yard. Very foolish, highly dangerous and the shed foreman didn't take too kindly to it either!

My question is do others remember this as a way to access the shed or have I dreamt it all?

Thanks

Paul
