Tristan, 23. Closest railroader in my family was a grandfather I never really knew. Interested in railways since... before I can remember. Wish I could remember, though. That is, I lived in BC in the late 80s-early 90s, and the British Columbia Railway is one of the fallen flags (that lasted into my lifetime, that is) I'd most have wanted to see.
Got into HO modelling for a few years in the mid-late 90s. Looking to get into N sometime.
After my early years, had basically no interest in foreign (both US and Canada counted as "over here") railways. My interests expanded, as the signature suggests. Really needed a lot more room for that. My weaknesses range from New York Central steam to older electrics, Alco/MLWs in eastern Canada and the huge iron ore trains of Australia and Brazil.
Guess that's the short story.

Fan of Conrail... also PRR, Santa Fe, BN and SP, 70s-80s CN, pre-merger-era UP, heavy electric operations in general, DB and DR, Brazilian railroads in general... why bother trying to list them all?
