It depends what you mean by "quite fast". Electric locos regularly run in tandem at freight train speeds(75 mph)without any problems. However at higher speeds the first pantograph can cause the overhead line to oscillate and the second pantograph can then start to experience current collection problems. Many high speed trains only use one pantograph but if two must be used then they should be as far apart as possible.
