At least they are calling them trucks now ( "you can't trust trucks"....). They were carriages to start off with.
It is ridiculous however, that there is no indication of when the line will reopen. At one time, in the distant past, the first priority was to clear the line and get some sort of service going.
I can still remember the part from the Harrow and Wealdstone accident report in 1952 when it remarked that some lines were operational albeit with caution in under 24 hours.
I do think the police who know absolutely nothing about railway operations should not be involved in any way except for road closures, spectator control etc unless they are definitely told by Rail staff that it could be a crime, such as an object placed on the track or some form of malicious act.
