[Jingling Geordie]

For me this is "Baby Bear's" Web-site i.e. just right.

Regarding Jingling Geordie: I'd bunked into Stratford shed and was going down the scrapping lines "copping" even those which were reduced to a wheeled chassis.

They chalked the Loco's number on the chassis as part of the inventory system. So when I came across this North British Railway Engine's number I was delighted. (The men must have had a good laugh at us spotters naivety!

Instead of chucking me out, a railwayman spun a tale about how this had come south. I took it hook, line and sinker!

Looking back I don't think that the chassis was a 4-4-0!

So I adopted the name as the engine now has a special place in my life.
