Local train services in Manchester set for cutbacks.

The following is a summarised local newspaper article, I can't find a URL that gives the level of detail below:

Virgin Trains are set to run 3 Manchester to London trains per hour from next year. To accommodate this, the following changes will have to made to existing local morning PEAK services:

Buxton to Manchester/Blackpool: Currently a half hourly service to Manchester with alternate trains continuing to Blackpool. This will become a half hourly service to Stockport with alternate trains continuing to Manchester and Blackpool.

Hazel Grove to Manchester: Currently a half hourly service to Manchester, in addition to the Buxton service which also serves Hazel Grove. This will become a half hourly service to Stockport with alternate trains continuing to Manchester.

Chester to Manchester via Stockport: Currently a half hourly service to Manchester. This will become a half hourly service to Stockport with alternate trains continuing to Manchester.

Macclesfield to Manchester: Currently a local service to Manchester about every 20 minutes, in addition to Cross Country and Virgin Trains services serving Macclesfield. This will become a local service every 20 minutes to Stockport with alternate trains continuing to Manchester.

Crewe to Manchester: Currently an inconsistent peak service via two routes, which will also see about half the local trains terminating at Stockport.

Evening peak trains would be the reserve of the above.

Rail User Groups are encouraging people to write to their MP and GMPTE opposing the above cuts as it is likely many Manchester trains will be too crowded to accommodate all the people who wish to travel on them.
