Well as the NR man said
"Sat-navs are a great tool but they are not an alternative for keeping your wits about you and obeying the rules of the road".
People nowadays are lazy, to the extent that they don't even want to do their own thinking. If they're going to drive straight onto a railway track I would question whether they should be in possession of a driving licence at all.
It does make you wonder if all these satnavs aquired a glitch which routed them to drive off Beachy Head, would the world be ridded of daft people (very Darwinian 
).
Seriously though this mindless behaviour costs millions, and perhaps BTP/NR should seek to recover some of the cost personally off the perpetrators (NOT their Insurance companies).
