I remember seeing them when I was in lancing Works about 1958. They were of a stange design as the access to the upper seating area was though some steps between the lower seats it must have taken...

It is many years ago when I worked on the Southern Region. As far as I can recall all emu units were bus lined thoughout the unit, with a pick up shoe at the either side at the ends of each unit....
