Signalboxes around Seaham- Durham Coast

Anyone know when the Signal boxes in the Seaham area were demolished? I was there over Christmas and was suprised that they had gone!! I hope some equipment was saved!

Reading in Railway magazines it seams the Irish mk3's are being scrapped! Can we not use them here in the UK. They even have sliding doors that ours don't. I know the bogies are a different gauge but...
