I just wondered if any one knew what the freight movements through preston station were, with living in blackpool we don't get any freight ! i moved from manchester where i could photograph heavy freight everyday so any info would be good

I'm not that well up on freight, but I noticed on Preston Station site there is a 2010 Timetable for freight passing through Preston, there maybe a 2011 timetable, if not sorry for the duff info..

You're right - the 2010 freight timetable IS the most up-to-date one on the site. :)

I've never encountered any problems at Preston Station from any sort of official.

Just a point regarding the log trains. I was under the impression that they go south over the S & C and join the WCML at Farrington junction. I might be wrong on this one so don't take it as gospel

Thanks Ken, i remember my wife seeing them when she used to catch the train home from preston in the afternoon last year
