Glasgow and Southwest Railway

With astonishment, I note that I first found this site in 2008 and here I am at last making contact! I am a regular correspondent and contributor to Ships Nostalgia which has been my real and abiding interest as I am a retired seafarer.

I am also , however, interested in railways particularly the Glasgow and South-west Railway, other railways serving Ayrshire and the mineral lines in the same county. I shall look through your index to see what I can find.

Welcome to the Forum Alistair. Do you mean the Glasgow and South Western Railway? An interesting Railway with a number of spectacular routes and structures, some now sadly closed.

Best wishes,

John H-T.
