Unknown train with mark 1 stock at canton railway depot?
Was going home today on the train which passes canton depot near cardiff central.. and there was a train I couldn't identify parked on sidings next to the main line;
It was painted grey with what looked like two blue lions on the side, and was coupled with a large amount of mark 1 stock.. I couldn't identify it so wondered if anyone else could ? :) |
Folos,
Was it the loco 67029 featured in some of the photos on this site? http://photos.eatnet.org.uk/c406532.html This loco does occasionally haul specials consisting of Mk1 stock |
Could it have been a extra train for the Rugby match at Cardiff today ?
All the best,Ian. |

What was left over from the match day trains was hauled out today (if i'm correct), two class 47s (well, one marked 47XXX, another D19XX and another I couldn't identify but it was painted blue).

The train it worked was an Orient Express rugby special from London Victoria to Cardiff so most of the coaches you saw would probably have been Pullmans. |
Another one for you :)
Was out walking with a friend near st fagans level crossing, and two 37s coupled with mark 1 stock and a class 60 on the back went past all in EWS livery (East to cardiff) - which charter was this? |
