New here :Steaming along alone
 

Just wanted to say "Hi" . I am a new member. I was watching some of the Indian Railway programmes over the festive season & it reminded me how much I love train travel ever since my first trip with my mother on a steam train.I always get a couple of free tickets every summer for a trip on the Somerset steam train but none of my friends share my interest and I thought I may meet people on here who do.

Hello Steaming along alone and welcome to the Railway Forum. The West Somerset Railway is, to my mind, one of the best in the country, also the Seven Valley Railway. I have to admit that I have not been on many so I can't say that I won't change my mind.
P.S. Don't be surprised if your name is shortened to SAA.
