Station renovation
Hi Guys, I thought I'd join the forum to help explore our options. We are just about to purchase an old railway station (won't say where it is) and we were wondering whether or not to renovate it sympathetically. This would depend on whether there is a market out there where we could buy replacement doors, guttering etc. Alternatively, it may be easier to sell what remains on the site (such as a Joseph Ash corrugated shed). We're obviously not rail enthusiasts, but we do love the building and location and just don't know where to start!
Any thoughts would be appreciated! |
It would be good if you could renovate it sympathetically.
Do you have any photos of the building when in use? Is the building in anyway listed? There are companies who specialise in "reclaimed period" building materials find on listed below. http://www.reclaimedbuildingmaterial.com/ |
Welcome to the Forum turrm. Hope you manage to go through with the purchase of the railway station. Hope you are able to restore it sympathetically.
Best wishes, John H-T. |

Yup, we've got photos and it's not a listed building. It's situated in 'farming land' so there are not many restrictions on it's development
