Totton class 60's

Good day all
I've recently got back from two week's holiday in North Yorkshire. Driving up there from Eastleigh, is a 'Bit of a haul', so we always have a break at 'Totton Yard (as you do)'.. So to the chase..
From the top of the bank, you look down on two lines of stored 60's.. Which are lined up behind a row of Wagons!! (Is that just bloody mindedness or what??) I managed to make only 2 of them as the rest of the loco numbers were obscured! I made it 28 locos dumped there. (On September 25th)
Can anyone oblige with a list of Numbers at all??

PS: 60071 Has recently been observed twice in Easleigh North Yard.. First one down here in ages!

Many thanks

Hi Ian. I did have a list of the now three rows at the bottom of the bank, current up to about a month ago but i cant find it at the minute... however i often go on a photographic pictorial website called "toton rail" by paul robertson (great site), and the last list i can find of pauls is from 10-07-2009 .

Back row (nearest the depot) 60006 (silver with blue inner paint), 60081, 60005, 60053, 60078, 60023. Front row (nearest them bloody wagons) 60097, 60044 & 60014. But that was then.... i will keep digging for you, because i know from the number of trips there that the back row now starts with 60004 and also has the green 60081 in this line. and the front row now starts with either 60032 or 60037 from memory. I will come back too you and confirm these later. Cheers, Tim

Always worth a visit if you're nearby (or better still, have a mate in Wrexham with a car who suggests going there!) - here's what it was like in summer 2008:-

http://daverowland.fotopic.net/c1519335.html

It'll be better now, as the yard (as opposed to/as well as the TMD sidings) is full of 60s.
By the way, 60071 returned to Eastleigh again last night with a freight from Scunthorpe...

It arrived as part of a convoy - 66051, 66154, 66145 & 60009, the working was 6O26 10.48 Hinksey Yard - Eastleigh Yard. Incidentally, the 'North Yard' has always been referred to as 'East Yard', something to do with LSWR or SR policy, all signalboxes, yards, junctions were referred to as either 'east' or 'west', which pertained to their location in regard to Waterloo station, so Eastleigh North Yard is East Yard, as if a straight line was drawn between Weymouth and Waterloo, the yard is east ON THAT (imaginary) line. If you see what I mean...
By the way, 60009 appeared at Eastleigh AGAIN yesterday (Monday 25th), hauling 6O41 10.14 Westbury Yard - Eastleigh East Yard, with 59203 as part of the load; 60009 worked back to Westbury yard with 6V41, the afternoon return working. I'll be putting the pics on my Fotopic site later today at:-
http://daverowland.fotopic.net/
I might even put a couple in the Gallery! :)

Hi Dave

Thanks mate! Most informative... "East Yard" it is!! I stand correctly - corrected!! :)

I'm in the advantageous posistion of living in the new build apartments on Twyford road, and I can see across part of the "East Yard", when movements come in and out.. I did see 59203 and 60009 yesterday afternoon as well.

(I hope the attachment's worked. It's 60009 starting up Sunday morning! Cough-Splutter)

Cheers
Ian

Thanks Dave for the info. I saw the train in Westbury Yard on Monday morning, caught the 60 but couldn't get the shed; it was a cop! The 08.28 from Newton Abbot to Paddington is normally full to bursting so it depends on the seat reservation as to whether you can see the yard. I prefer forward facing/nearside window seat as you can see the stone trains between Reading and Acton. (last Monday there were none!).

I drove to Derby on Tuesday on the A52, looked over the bridge & I too saw a row of EWS 'Tugs'...
