Fleetwood freightline,to the port...

The Fleetwood freight line only went as far as ICI at Burn Naze, the line to fleetwood from there was lifted years ago. I believe that the Burn Naze line was lifted last year leaving a "stump" of about half a mile from Poulton junction.

Thats what i must of seen the other day,some old disused tracks on my way out of fleetwood,near to camp site........:)

A year or so ago somebody who lives in Fleetwood mentioned to a friend of mine that there were plans to reopen the line from Poulton Junction to Fleetwood. I've just had a rummage on Google and turned this up

Just had good look at that site,very interesting......the whole line has been mothballed...........and not ripped up like most branch lines......
