Not a railwayman at present but hoping to be in the near future. I'm presently waiting to hear from First Transpennine Express for a trainee train driver post. Passed part of the assessments and had an interview and awaiting the next stage. At the moment I'm a working as a professional local historian and genealogist, so just a slight career change! :) I wouldn't describe myself as a rail enthusiast per se, but I've long been interested in trains and railways, in particular their history and development. Glad to be here and thanks to all for the warm welcome.

Hello Jim and welcome to the railway Forum. Good luck with with the post of trainee drivers post. If you have an intrest in driving trains and have long been interested in trains and railways, then you are a rail enthusiast per se.
