Hello from the Isle of Man

Hi
I am based on the Rock in the middle of the Irish Sea called the Isle of Man, which probably is as equally famous for its TT motorbike races as well as its narrow gauge steam, electric and horse powered rail systems. I am narrow gauge nut first off, mainly because as I brought up on our 3ft standard gauge, although I do love the 'broad gauge' steam over on the big island too (4'-8' plus looks huge to me). You will often see my many images (and articles) on the island's railways in the UK railway press, and I have the UK news editor for Narrow Gauge Railway magazine since issue No.1 back in 1998. Also, I have pen three railway books on the Isle of Man Railway, the most well known is Manx Peacocks... hence the name. Well that's me....:) Cheers David |

Hi - I do know the odd place or two for the best shots - the one below is a classic.... David |
Hello Manx Peacocks And welcome to the Railway Forum. Must make a plan and get over to that little rock some day. The railway I used to work on is also narrow gauge by the big rocks standards, it was 3' 6", but the locos were much bigger than the British ones.
