metcalfe v superquick etc
hope i don't get shot down for asking a question that has probably been asked a thousand times before. here goes..have built a few metcalfe models and very pleased with the results. Have looked at superquick prices, basically half the price; but do they compare, finished build wise. thanks for any response.

Hi treedweller, I'm in the same boat as you. I have also built a few Metcalfe models and was pleased with the results in both 'N' and '00' gauge. Last week I purchased a Superquick ash plant in '00'. The guy said that they had no reported problems with it. I asked if I should reinforce some of the parts and he said there was no need but that it was up to me if I felt I was not happy with the model. Problem is I won't know until I have glued it up.

Metcalfe weren`t around when i was building my last layout, I used all Superquick. There are some pics in my gallery, take a look. I found them quite sturdy and fairly easy to construct.

I have built both but Metcalfe come out as the best, they assemble easily with good edges to the parts and also look realistic .The construction is easy with clear instructions and the colours are realistic, also you can do a bit of kit bashing on them.Try Howards Scenics of Witney Oxon they have a fantastic range of card kits and sundry items ,the house kits are realy gorgous models and look well behind a goods yard or as town, very efficient service from them as well check out if they are at an exhibition near you.Good luck with the modeling
