Railway bridge crash stops trains (BBC News)
 
Trains and traffic have been disrupted after a lorry hit a railway bridge near Bristol.

If the road hauliers had to pay the costs of any disruption caused by their "out of gauge" loads, they might be a lot more careful. This type of "accident" has been going on for years, usually due to driver inattention. It might focus their minds if they knew the true costs invloved; their insurance companies might not like it though.

I was diverted on my way home from the Bristol Model Railway Exhibition due to this lorry having hit the bridge. Made me 15 mins late.
