French Railway Blunder

The French railway operator, SNCF, has mistakenly put a dramatic statement on its website saying more than 100 people had died in a train explosion.

Dont want to appear too morbid in this mortal age of ours, but how will we know when one of the established seniors 'pops his clogs'. Will their family think to post on the forum after the event or never touch it again??

Not at all - following recent experiences with a good friend who sadly died in October, I used his computer to try and contact his online friends, for just such a purpose. I managed to contact just TWO, but they both replied & thanked me for letting them know etc. In light of all these events, I've got a word.file slap bang in the middle of my desktop, titled "IF I'VE POPPED OFF - READ THIS". It's full of instructions on how to dispose of my mortal remains, and what to sell to enable such an occurance, and so on; I've left logging on details of Railway Forum, with orders to let you lot know, else you'll all fret!

...and you've only seen the one's I've uploaded - there's a few thousand besides those! But seriously though - contingency plans make me feel a bit more secure; like the boy scouts motto says: Be Prepared. :):)

Do agree with you though, it's a good idea.

This sort of thing is all too easy to do. Many websites have dummy training websites that are carbon copies of the live one that can either be used for training or systems development. In some systems that I have used and indeed still use it isn't always blindingly obvious if you are in the training system or 'live'.
