a quick intro - name is graham, got into digital photography about a year ago & into railway photography at the start of July this year. I remember steam at Snow Hill & New Street from the early 1960's and the local steam sheds.

Hello Graham.
Welcome to the Forum.
I'm from the "D" and "E" era also but we do have some younger members who can help with modern traction questions.:)

Hi and welcome to the forum Graham.

If you need any help with diesel and electric classifications then don't hesitate to ask. My trainspotting career started just before TOPS was introduced, so me and my mates had to learn pretty quickly. :)

Hi both

I don't really follow diesel/electric but if they are there I take pics. in August I went to Tamworth to see Tangmere heading south, it came thru & the lad next to me was interested in somethin coming the other way. I asked what it was, 'its a 92 didn't know about the kettle' all new lingo to me!

Welcome Graham,

I also haunted New Street and Snow Hill in the 50's and 60's and it took me some time to get the hang of TOPS numbers. Still have a slight cofusion with the BC&W type 2 and 3's!
