Intercity trains upgrade delayed (BBC News)
 
Plans to replace the ageing fleet of intercity trains have been postponed after running into difficulties, the transport secretary says.

These days we can't even organise a long-term solution, it seems, never mind create a short-term one that works so well.

This could have been forecast 10 years ago. This Government couldn't plan a party in a brewery. The HST's will be kept rolling until there is a disaster caused by their age and then the DfT will start running round like headless chickens when they are compulsarely retired from service with no replacement.
