Very sad. Rail travel is generally safe, but accidents do happen, and the cost in lives always makes for grim reading.
Lets just hope that the tally doesn't rise.

It was up to 20 on the midday news, but by 1.00pm, it's 10 - obviously 10 have come back to life. I do wish exaggeration wouldn't enter the equation..... Rather curious: the mainly-white EMU involved in the crash - in Belgium, these are known as 'Break' units. Hmmm. :(

It is a very sad day in railway history and for the unfortunate people who have lost their lives. My condolences and thoughts go out to their families

My sentiments also. Apparently SNCB (Belgian Railways) have a very good safety record; indeed, during very many visits to Belgium, and a large number of depot visits there, I can vouch for the very small number of collision damaged locomotives, units and stock; I hadn't thought about it until now, but there were certainly far fewer casualties than in most other places I've been, if not all. Very sad. :(
