I was standing in the field opposite Irwell Vale Station yesterday talking to a couple of other photographers as you do and they mentioned they were on this forum so I thought I would give it a try.

Started taking an interest in trains way back in 1963, spending weekends bunking sheds in Liverpool and visiting exotic places such as Crewe and Chester. Then I grew up. Later on around the mid 80s I was working near Saltley Depot in Birmingham and started taking pictures there during the last days of the 40s and 45s, now, having moved back tot he North West, I take every opportunity to take railway photographs.
