Does anyone recognise these stations please?
3 Attachment(s)
These are my last 3 photographs (taken in the early 1970s) of stations I can't identify. Can anyone help please? The third one is certainly on the West Highland line but no matter how I try to enhance the image, I can't read the nameplate - and WH architecture is very similar at many stations. The second photo may also be in Scotland.

The first one looks like Skipton (waits for somebody to shoot me down in flames!)

I feel I have a reasonable knowledge of various stations, including Halts, but I regret to say I can't help you here.

First shot definately Skipton looking Northwest along the main island platform.
Station entrance and main buildings to the right accessed by subway. Current Grassington branch but then Ilkley line coming down the grade behind the wall to the left, can just see the station signs on posts. Road overbridge concealing access to Engine sheds about 1/4 mile further up on the left. Skipton North box through bridge on right. (I believe this box was recovered following electrification at the Avon railway near Bath) Skipton South box would be behind the camera to the right. Oil tank sidings and "Lanky" siding behind the camera to the left. |
Third shot ,looks a lot like,on the way to Oban? or Malieg,i think your right that one is certainly is a station on that route up north Scotland.Hope you can get some help with your search.

I don't know, but numbers one and two seem to be the same place. Two people have said Skipton, so why don't you go there via Google Earth?

Only number 1 is Skipton no idea on the others.

the third pic I am almost 100% sure will be on the Mallaig line, Oban branch didn't have those swiss style buildings and doesn't look like any of the one between the Fort and Helensburgh upper:)
