I think the train is not the best way to travel. First of all, it is slow. The train in Thailand is not fast like the train in Japan or in some other countries. Some train routes are only one railroad track. The two trains cannot use in the same track. The other train needs to wait. Second, it is not secure. If you have read the news recently. You will know that there are many accidents. The crime such as theft valuables happens in the train, too. Third, it is not clean because they do not have enough cleaners. Sometime you will see the merchant use the train for movetheir goods such as food, vegetable. That will make the train dirty. Finally, Thai trains are quite crowded because they do not have enough trains. Therefore, the train is not the best way to travel.

Sounds like the railway is under invested in your country, like ours really! I think the best way to travel is the means that suits that trip best.

Hello Pap and welcome to the Railway Forum. The trains in Thailand seem to be the same as the trains in Central Africa, slow dirty and if they are running, very late.

I am sorry to hear that the rail service is not so good in Thailand.

It still is the best way to travel in this country in my eyes and yes it could be better.
I have just been to London and Cardiff in the last two weeks and wouldnt travel anyother way.
