Good Afternoon all!!
Good afternoon everyone, as you may guess, im new to all this, and im a narrow gauge 'buff' as they say!! are there any felow members with narrow gauge leanings? Also, are there any 009 scale modellers here? anyone with knowledge of railways in north west wales? i would appreciate to hear from you, my interests are the quarry hunslets, NWNGR, PB&SSR, Croesor tramway, Gorseddau tramway, my favourite being the NWNGR's 0-6-4 hunslet "Beddgelert". I grew up with the old llangybi station on the old afonwen - caernarfon line, hence the interest in railways from a very young age! well, i hope to hear from you, no matter who you are or your topical interest!! M!

Hi Jonesy83, likewise welcome to the forum.
One of my interests is the legendary Lynton & Barnstaple Railway of which I'm a member. We have already reopened the first mile of railway at Woody Bay. We also now own/control about another 2 miles of the former 19-mile trackbed between Barnstaple and Lynton, although that 2-miles is made up of about half-a-dozen smaller sections. Unfortunately the railway is on the other side of the Bristol Channel from Cardiff. I hope you are a good swimmer. ;) Chris |
Hello Jonesy83 and welcome to the Railway Forum. I an keen on the ex-SAR NG loco's. I have a special love of the Garratts of both the 2' gauge and the 3'-6" or Cape gauge. I will be visiting a lot of the Welsh NG railways when I retire in 2012 as we hope to move to Wales, somewhere around the Carmarthen area.

Welcome to the Forum Jonesy83. Look forward to your posts, especially on Welsh Narrow Gauge.
Best wishes, John H-T. |
Hi Jonesy, welcome to the forum. I like all things steam, including narrow gauge. My local NG / miniature lines are the Romney Hythe & Dymchurch Railway (15") & Sittingbourne & Kemsley Railway (2'6"). There's also the Bredgar & Wormshill (2' gauge), but I haven't been there yet.
