Eurostar refunds after breakdowns (BBC News)
 
About 1,000 Eurostar passengers are to be given refunds after a power cut left them stranded in France for several hours.

As I mentioned in another thread, THIS is EXACTLY the reason why there will always be a diesel fleet. Passengers were stuck on this train for about FOUR HOURS - how long would it have been had there not been diesels to help out? Interesting to note that as soon as the power went, the on-train refreshment facilities ceased trading - not a shrewd customer relations decision, if you ask me. I'm surprised there wasn't a riot!
