Micro layouts.

I've just been having a browse through this site, and there are some interesting ideas.

The plans look like a good way of trying out your modelling skills before diving in at the deep end. And if you thought that you didn't have the room for a model railway, then think again!

Thanks for that Trev, I'll take a look.

I think many people, especially the younger ones, are missing out on the enjoyment that railway modelling brings because of their belief that "big is best" If they can't have a four-track mainline layout with 6 trains running at once, then they don't want anything.
How wrong they are. If only they were a little more open-minded they could get plenty of ideas for small layouts from books and websites, like the one Trev mentions.

The nice thing about small projects such as these, is that they can be well detailed, but finished fairly quickly. And just as important, without spending a fortune.

I hope you do decide to build a layout, Ian. You could post progress reports.
It would be nice to see some activity in the "Railway Modelling" forum.:)

All the best,Ian
