Bulgarian class 87s

In the spring of this year I was lucky enough to get the chance of a depot visit to veiw some of the class 87s locos which have been exported to the country.

The lastest new I have from Bulgaria is that a rake of mrk 3 coaches are to be sent over very soon:cool:

It's amazing how much of their "Britishness" they loose when you take the yellow end away.

I sware we must be the only country who uses that practice.

We are, however I am told that the practice is under review.

I grew up with all yellow ends on the loco's and find loco's look strange without them.

But what with all the headlights fitted these days perhaps this original safety feature is now redundent.

Well that sucks.

The green / yellow one is 87014 and they are parked next to preserved 87002 - but unfortunately there is a load of junk (well class 47 & some wagons) in front of them

they moved the junk out the way, so I managed to get a photo.

87014, 87004, 87002

It's one of the two on the left in the photo that I posted a link to.

Today there was 86701/2, 87002/4/13/4 lined up (plus 86424/901/2 probably behind), but there was a 47 on front.
