Hello. My name is Jeff i am 56 years of age and live in North East England. I was a railway enthusiast between the ages of about 11 to 19. I became a "full time" railway enthusiast again in May 2008.
I did though maintain a passing interest in between, photographing and occasionally visiting events whilst on holiday.
I am interested in all aspect of the railways especially steam and i am amazed at the how the preservation movement, not only with steam, has grown.
My fondest railway memories are from North West England between 1966 and 1968 when i spent summer family holidays in Ashton Under Lyne, hence the opportunity of witnessing the end of steam. These days i like to watch steam on the main line and am catching up on the preserved scene and their amazing collections of steam, diesel, electric and other stock, not to mention the railways themselves.
