The Severn Valley give a guide to each passenger so a lot you will see will be pointed out. You can get a through ticket from some railway stations which is a good saver.

welcome to the forums! I myself think that the severn valley is one of the greatest preserved railways and one detail to look for is outside bridgenorth station. There is the words GWR in the brickwork supporting the rear of the station, which by the condition of the bricks, looks original. hope you enjoy the trip

Hello Smithy and welcome to the Railway Forum. The SVR is one of my top railways, the other being the WSR. There is one spot on the SVR that I always look for. It is a telephone pole that used to be beside the track. It was about 50 feet from the track the last time I spotted it.

Hello and welcome to the forum Smithy. I must recommend trying the catering services on the SVR, they're very good. Also, if you have time, it may be worth visiting the Bridgnorth Cliff Railway.
