Genealogy help

Hello each - I need a hand to locate the history of my grandfather Arthur Hulley who was a train driver with the LMS working out of the Rowsley yard in Derbyshire. I was born in 1938 and was told that I would have been taken to the footplate of Grandfathers train as were all grandchildren. I remember him around 1944 when he was retired. Is there any documentation available to me for reseach given that I am Australia? Thank you.

Hi mfdu2002. Have you tried to get in touch with Peak Rail? They operate heritage steam & diesel trains on the line between Matlock & Rowsley, so maybe their historian or some one else there might be able to dig something up. http://peakrail.co.uk

Regards,
Tony
