Hello from a retired Newbie
 

Hi everyone, have recently retired and the wife has told me to get a hobby to get me out from under her feet ha. Always enjoyed the railways particulaly steam locomotives. So I'm starting afresh, doing research on the internet so forgive any daft questions I may ask

Hello Norris and welcome to the Railway Forum. There is no such thing as daft questions. If you don't know the answer, then the way to find out is to ask. Books don't hold the answer to every question, especially the easy ones as they tend to concentrate on the harder ones.
