Brambleton Model Railway Club's autumn open day

Around 250 people attended the Brambleton Model Railway Club's autumn open day at its giant open air track in Ambrose Lane, Harpenden where both O gauge electric powered trains and 16mm gauge live steam locos were operating.

The club constructed the 16mm gauge track aout three years ago to go with the huge O gauge double track and that effectively opened up the club, which was formed in 1956, to the owners of the live steam locos.

The club now has one of the largest track layouts in the country and is hoping to expand it over the coming month.

Its next event will be the annual model railway exhibition at Harpenden Public Halls in January.
